"Ogg vorbis" - it's an open-source media container format. In this context, it's an alternative audio codec offering better compression and quality than plain old mp3.
I encode my music in Ogg Vorbis or lossless flac format so that I don't have to worry about DRM and to offer some amount of "future proofing" to ensure the ability to play my stuff in 10 years.
Formats - even modern ones - die. Go ahead and try to find a way to play betamax or laser discs.
